Why it's usually not blocked
Many game sites get blocked because they host downloads, chats or heavy ads. WikiRace Online is different: the game itself is a small web page, and every article you race through is loaded from Wikipedia — the same encyclopedia students use for homework. It's also a genuine learning activity, which is why teachers use it in class (see WikiRace for teachers).
How to play right now
- Open the daily challenge or start a random race.
- Press Start and click links inside each article to reach the target.
- Finish in the fewest clicks and share your score.
If it doesn't load
- If articles never appear, your network may block Wikipedia itself. Try a different network, or ask your teacher — many schools allow Wikipedia on request.
- Make sure JavaScript is enabled; the game can't run without it.
- Browser extensions that block scripts can also stop articles from loading.
We don't provide proxies or ways around network filters — please follow your school or workplace rules.
FAQ
Is WikiRace unblocked at school?
Usually yes. WikiRace Online is a lightweight site that loads articles directly from Wikipedia, which most school networks allow for research. If Wikipedia itself is blocked on your network, the game can't load articles.
Does it work on a Chromebook?
Yes. It runs in Chrome with no extension, download or Flash, and works on school-managed Chromebooks, iPads and phones.
Is it safe?
There are no accounts, chats, pop-ups or downloads. Names you type on the leaderboard are optional.
