What makes the hardest WikiRace routes hard

We solved all 300 routes in the levels of WikiRace Online. 11 connect in a single click, 259 in two, and only 30 need three. Those 30 are the hardest WikiRace routes in the game, and they have a few things in common:

• Plain, everyday targets. Airplane is the target of three of the 30 routes, and Avocado, Knight and Superhero of two each. Big hub articles tend to link to something more specific, like an aircraft model, an order of knights or a named hero, so few short paths lead to the generic article.
• Starts and targets from different worlds. A footballer to Electricity, a basketball player to Castle, a rock band to Heart: no shared country, era or field gives you a quick bridge.
• Shortcuts nobody would guess. The fastest route from Goat to Batman goes through Beret and Monocle. From Rubik's Cube to William Shakespeare, it runs through a children's cartoon and Elf. Human players usually need a longer route through hubs.

The hardest WikiRace route is at the top. The level number is where the route appears in Levels mode, where finishing in 3 clicks earns three stars. Several 3-click routes often exist; the one shown is the first our solver found, checked against Wikipedia in October 2026.

Hardest daily challenges so far

Five of the first 17 daily challenges needed three clicks. Each one has an answer page with the shortest route and the leaderboard:

• Daily #11: Abraham Lincoln → Castle. Shortest route: Abraham Lincoln → Apartheid → Hero → Castle. The only player to finish took 9 clicks.
• Daily #17: Tetris → Black hole. Shortest route: Tetris → Artificial intelligence → Science → Black hole.
• Daily #14: Honey bee → Skyscraper. Shortest route: Honey bee → Alfred Russel Wallace → Belém → Skyscraper.
• Daily #8: Ada Lovelace → Tea. Shortest route: Ada Lovelace → Charles Babbage → Party → Tea.
• Daily #6: Unicorn → Barbie. Shortest route: Unicorn → Aristotle → Beauty → Barbie.

How to beat a hard WikiRace route

• Settle for a sure route. On a 3-click route, finishing in 5 clicks still earns two stars in Levels. A safe path through hubs beats hunting for a lucky shortcut.
• Work backwards from the target. Ask which big topic the target belongs to: Airplane to aviation and transport, Knight to the Middle Ages, Superhero to comics. Get to that topic first, then look for the link.
• Use Ctrl+F on long hub pages. Search a hub article for words related to the target. It's allowed here, as our WikiRace cheats and Ctrl+F guide explains.
• Don't back out too soon. The in-game Back button costs a click. A mediocre page often has a forward link that is just as good.

How many clicks does a hard WikiRace take?

With perfect play, three for every route on this page. Real players take longer: on daily #11, Abraham Lincoln to Castle, the shortest route was 3 clicks and the best player needed 9.

Are any WikiRace routes impossible?

Almost never between normal articles, because Wikipedia is densely linked. A route only becomes impossible when the target has no links pointing to it, or when a rule like a click limit is too tight.
